Privacy policy
Last updated October 26, 2026
This policy explains what information Cast Forge, operated by Cast Forge (“we”, “us”), collects, how it is used and the choices you have. Cast Forge is a tool that publishes posts about products from your own website to social media accounts that you connect to it.
Information we collect
- Your Cast Forge account: a username, a hashed password and the secret for two-step verification.
- Connected social accounts: when you connect Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram or Threads, we receive access tokens and basic profile details from that platform: account or Page ID, name or username, the Instagram Business account linked to a Page, and the boards on a Pinterest account. We never see or store your social media passwords.
- Website content: the public product pages of websites you add (titles, descriptions, images and links), which we use to create posts.
- Posts: the text, images, schedule and the ID and link of each post we publish for you.
- Performance data: impressions, saves and outbound clicks that Pinterest reports for posts and accounts you connected.
- Technical data: IP addresses and browser type of sign-in attempts, kept to protect your account from abuse.
How we use it
- To publish the posts you schedule to the accounts you connected, and to show you where and when they went live.
- To show you performance figures for your posts.
- To keep your account secure.
We do not use data from Facebook, Instagram, Threads or Pinterest for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing Cast Forge to you. We do not sell personal data.
Data from Meta platforms
With your permission, Cast Forge uses the Facebook Pages API, the Instagram Graph API and the Threads API to list the Pages and Instagram Business accounts you manage and to publish photo posts to them. Page access tokens and Threads tokens are stored only so that scheduled posts can be published. We do not read your messages, comments, followers or any content other than the posts Cast Forge itself creates.
Who we share it with
- The social networks you connect, which receive the posts you publish.
- AI providers you choose in the settings (such as Anthropic, OpenAI or Google), which receive product titles, descriptions and photos from your website to write copy and create images. They do not receive your social media data or tokens.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
Storage and retention
Data is stored in Cast Forge’s database on servers we control, protected by sign-in with two-step verification. Access tokens are kept until you disconnect the account or ask us to delete your data. Published post records are kept so you can see your history, until you delete them or close your account.
Your choices
- Disconnect any social account from the Accounts page at any time; posting to it stops immediately.
- Remove Cast Forge’s access from the platform itself, for example in Facebook under Settings → Apps and websites.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or for its deletion, as described on the data deletion page.
Children
Cast Forge is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
